Submitting Assignments in Brightspace

Updated on

From within the course modules, you’ll see a list of all your required activities for the week. You can also click into the “Course Schedule” menu item to see upcoming dates and deadlines for your course.

When you view the Course Schedule, you’ll be able to see the full schedule, or you can filter by upcoming deadlines or overdue course items. If you have overdue course items, these will be highlighted in red. Be sure to review the late policy for assignments, as you’re only able to submit these for up to 7 days after the assignment deadline for partial credit.

When you click into the assignment, you’ll see links to the Assignment Guidelines and Rubrics and an area to submit your assignment.

Be sure to review your Assignment Guidelines and Rubrics. These instructions will help you complete your assignment, and the rubric information lets you know exactly how you’ll be graded so you can be sure to hit up all of the Critical Elements of your assignment. The documents in this folder are critical to your success in the course, as they lay out exactly what you need to know to meet the standards for an exemplary outcome in the assignment.

Keep in mind that you can access the Assignment Guidelines and Rubrics both from the assignment itself and from the “Table of Contents” in the course.

When you are ready to submit your assignment, you can click the “Upload” button to upload your document, or you can simply drag and drop your file into the submission area.

When you click “Upload,” you’ll be asked to locate the file on your computer. Select the file and click the “Open” button to submit.

You’ll then see your file attached for this submission item, along with an area for you to enter any comments to your instructor. When ready, click the “Submit” button to submit your assignment.

You’ll receive an on-screen notification that the assignment has been submitted, as well as a message that a Confirmation Email has been sent to your SNHU.edu email address. This will give you peace of mind, knowing that your instructor has, in fact, received your assignment.

You’ll also see a log of your assignment submission on the assignment page itself.
As always, reach out to your academic advisor or instructor with any questions.
